Think about it.
Which scenario are you in? Will both get you to Heaven?
Even Satan believed in God. If he didn't, why would he spend so much time trying to turn us away from God? Now, you don't have to have malicious intentions as Satan did to be far from God, but even just a lack of understanding has the potential of putting you in jeopardy from being a believer and not a follower.
Just because we go to church and because we are still good people during the week does not mean that we are followers of Christ. I used to be just that. I was a relatively good person and went to church on Sunday. But I didn't desire to know more about God; to learn about His character. I did not live my life evaluating where my heart did or did not align with Christ's heart. But these things are essential for followers of Christ... to be in love with the person of Christ.
And just to clarify, just because we are following God, doesn't mean that we aren't sinful. Each and every one of us (believer, follower, agnostic, etc) are equal in sin. The difference lies in if we've accepted God's grace and if we allow for the blood to cover our sins.
This blog entry is not meant to be offensive or judgmental, but to spark internal examination of one's heart.
i love your bold obedience Ana!
